My Perspective

Product development is a combination of business, technical and user goals, it brings the user experience to life through a solid foundation of design strategy and attention to details. The four pillars below contributes to the success of Industrial Design or UXUI Design.

Collaboration with the product team, researchers and subject matter experts to define the optimized user experience scope and possibilities is the first step of either Industrial Design or UXUI Design process. This process includes Q&A, workshops and sketching sessions.

Design strategy ensures the product is based on data, business requirements and user focused needs.

ID uses sketches and 3D CAD, UXUI uses journey maps, flows, user stories, sitemaps, etc to facilitate discussions.

Both ID and UXUI uses Design Systems to create a unified appearance across different products under the same brand.

An ID Design System contains physical specs such as form factor, colors, texture and components, UXUI Design System contains digital experience tools such as colors, fonts, icons and components.

User Research is key to understand from the user perspective, identifying user needs, pain points and opportunities to create user-centered offerings.

Both ID and UXUI designers create visual and functional prototypes and leverages user testing to define, refine and validate the product experience throughout the development process.
